American Son follows an estranged biracial couple who reunite at a Florida police station after their teenage son is detained following a traffic stop. As they struggle to obtain information, their disparate histories, assumptions, and biases emerge—forcing them to confront deeply held truths about race, identity, and parenthood.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Actors should bring all known conflicts for January and February. Resumé is optional. No prepared monologue is required.
Please come on Sunday 21st if possible so we can focus Monday on callbacks.
